Hi

There has been quite a lot of hype in the media of late with the latest lottery winners, which reminded me of a product I featured some time ago called The Lotto Black Book, which some of our readers tried & recommended. This was invented by an American maths professor, but I won’t bore you with the details of how it works, if you go to the site he will explain it all, with the usual American hype !!. However, the great thing about this product is that he guarantees a good win within the first few weeks & if not you get your money back. There are no catches here as the publisher (Clickbank) has a 60 day money back, no hassle guarantee, which I can vouch for as they are well known worldwide in the digital product industry. This one is a no lose situation and well worth taking a look at. Once again if you do purchase the product, please let me know about your successes so that I can pass them on to other readers in this newsletter. For full details click here:

Hi

I thought I would cover one of the more popular ways to make a little extra money if you have a bit of spare time and a computer, and that is blogging. Now I know some people will immediately say “no that’s not for me”, but do you really know what it’s about? Writing a blog can be about anything from your daily life to hobbies, interest’s information etc. the possibilities are endless and there are plenty of ways to make money from it no matter what the subject. Say, for instance, your hobby is making model cars or fishing or breeding dogs, you can write a regular blog about your experience, giving help & information to others who have similar interests, plus there are suppliers out there who will pay you for advertising their related products or give you commission on any sales made through your blog. Then there is Google who will also pay for any adverts they place that people click on, regardless of whether they buy a product or not. The only cost involved is buying a domain name (i.e moneysaverstrategies.co.uk, costs £25 for 2 years) which should relate directly to your blog content and then your hosting charge which is about a fiver a month. The most popular platform to produce your blog is called WordPress and it is absolutely free. If you think this sounds daunting, it really isn’t, I’ve been doing it for some time and the best place to start for free advice is HERE, take a look you’ve got nothing to lose !

How to start your own internet business

Price wars: Supermarket versus local market

I’m often told that it’s cheaper to ditch the major supermarkets and shop at local markets, retailers and butchers. But the supermarket I usually visit always seems to have deals on fresh produce. It discounts different vegetables each week and this summer has offered loads of bags of fruit for just £1. So I’ve wondered if it’s actually true that I could save money. Hi

Well, back from my week’s holiday to find that the whole country has gone mad and we are in the middle of riots !! It never ceases to amaze me how a minority of scumbags can have so little respect for other people’s property & livelihoods. Incredibly there are kids as young as 10 & 11 taking part, where the hell are their parents? Use water cannon on them is what I say ! Ok rant over. As most people are about to, or already have had their holidays, it is the second most expensive time of the year (the other being Christmas), when people get into debt to fund their breaks away. It may be worth spending a little less this year & using any extra cash to pay off those costly debts. Now is the time to clear or reduce debts on store and credit cards that can charge between 18 & 30% and one way, is to transfer any balances to a 0% card, some offer up to 20 months and this gives you time to pay off the debt without crippling interest charges. However, don’t fall into the trap of spending more on these sort of cards and find that when the interest period runs out you are saddled with even more debt.

Hi

Many of you may have heard about the new ebook readers & specifically the product they call ‘Kindle’, but have you ever checked out exactly what it is? Basically it is a means of reading an electronic book and there are over 700,000 different books available, these include bestsellers, new releases, newspapers & magazines, but did you know that there are more than 1 million free books also available? I must admit that I did not appreciate the significance until I played with a friends ‘Kindle’ and now I am hooked & it is top of my wish list for anyone buying me a present. The Kindle is incredibly light and is thinner than a magazine & weighs less than a paperback, can be read in sunlight, has a battery life of up to 2 months and can hold up to 3,500 books. Now all this might sound like some hyped up sales pitch, but believe me, it is well worth checking out, particularly if you read books whilst you are on holiday. My friend bought his for just that reason, as it saved him packing conventional books & he can download additional books via Wi-Fi. I would guess that this is something that most people will either love or hate, depending on your point of view, but if you think it’s worth a look, check out the details here:

There will be no newsletter next week as I’m on holiday, but it will be back the week after.

Hi

Phone hacking has been the main news item for a couple of weeks now, but what actually is it & how can you avoid it happening to you?
Basically, phone hacking is when someone gains access to your voicemail, which used to be quite easy as voicemails came with a standard PIN which the user was supposed to alter when they started using the service. Unfortunately, most people never bothered so all someone had to do was call your phone when it was either switched off or engaged & they would go straight through to your voicemail & using the PIN, have complete access. Network providers have tightened up now and default PINs have been discontinued and you now choose a PIN when you set up your voicemail. However, using an obvious one like sequential numbers (4567) or your birthday, still makes it easy for hackers. The main problem is that voicemail can still be accessed remotely (from a phone other than the mobile) and there is technology called Caller ID Spoofing which among other uses, allows someone to impersonate a mobile number so the voicemail thinks it is being accessed by the persons own mobile & so gives access to the voicemail.
That said, unless you have a high profile, it is unlikely that someone will bother to try & hack your phone, personally if they hacked mine they would only hear the kids wanting a lift or to borrow money, so no problem there !!

Hi

I covered this subject a few months ago, but have had some really good feedback from readers and so thought it is worth bringing to you attention again. Basically it is a satellite TV system that you watch on your PC for a 1 off cost with no monthly fees and unlimited viewing. You simply download the software and watch any of the 3,500 channels available from dozens of countries, including over 500 from UK. There are 2 points to check before you think about getting it, firstly are you happy to watch TV on your computer (this is fine if you have good sound and a good quality monitor) and secondly as it is via internet, you must have unlimited broadband (most people do have this anyway), if you can say yes to both these points then it is worth checking it out here:

Do let me have your feedback if you take up this option.

Hi

Continuing with a recap of the last 6 months most important posts. I was persuaded some time ago that the market for instant cash loans was actually fulfilling a need for some people, but it is imperative that you use a reputable lender & also one that clearly shows exactly what you will repay, up front. This lender not only does that but can approve a loan & have it in your bank within 15 minutes, quicker than you could actually get through to your own bank to be refused an overdraft !!, see full details at Wonga.com

Obviously, this newsletter is aimed at helping people make the most of their money and stay out of debt, but inevitably not everyone is in that position. If you are in debt then you need to take action rather than just leave it & hope it gets better and there are many organisations that will assist you with negotiating with creditors, applying for IVA’s etc. Once again, it must be a reputable organisation and should you find yourself in this position then Debt Release Direct is a company that can assist you.

Hi

Well done to all the readers who spotted the incorrect date on last weeks newsletter, I think the African sun must be going to my head !!  Just a quick word this week about Amazon Micro sites, these are independent sites which bring together all the products of a particular type, and link you directly to them on Amazon. The reason for this is that many products can appear in more than one category on Amazon and it can be a time consuming job searching for them all & you are never sure you have found the full range. For instance www.woodentoy-boxes.co.uk has one of the largest ranges of wooden toy boxes on the internet, all from Amazon, but if you search for this product directly on Amazon you will only find a dozen if you are lucky, without trawling through every category. This site features around 70 wooden toy boxes pulled from several different categories on Amazon, so all the hard work is done for you. Additionally if you search on Google for a particular type of product,  you are less likely to be taken directly to these products on Amazon as they are scattered all over their site and are not specifically targeted. So, next time you want a Ben 10 game or toy, or a dining room table & chairs, go to www.bentengame.co.uk   or www.diningroomtablesandchairs.co.uk   and you will see a list of all products available, in logical order, and are then taken directly to them on Amazon, you then have all the benefits associated with dealing with Amazon, without the hard work of searching for them.
